We had the honour of hosting the Creative Zone at Waterlooville Music and Art FEST this Summer.
It was wonderful to see so many local residents come out to get involved and enjoy what was a beautiful day of community, music and creativity in the town centre
We provided a number of varied craft activities with the support of our creative facilitators and volunteers; we had a range of childrens crafts on offer throughout the day, we made some community art, Charlie from Q Wellness shared a Bath Salts aromatherapy workshop, Princess Belle showed us how to make magic mirrors, Ali shared some Data art and we all enjoyed making traditional Ukrainian Matonka dolls with Jill and Maryna.
Waterlooville residents of all ages and abilities joined us for free thanks to support from Havant borough council.
Our partner Southern Music Project provided a day full of live music and workshops making the town centre swell with excitement and pride and ensured we were entertained too.
A note from Nancy: I moved to Waterlooville in 2018 and since then I have been bringing my kids up here. The centre is known for being a bit run down and lacking things to do. With this in mind its been on my radar to do more in the town centre for a while. I was so pleased to be asked to host the creative zone for this day. This meant I could show people what we could do while bringing activities to our town centre.
I am so grateful to Laura from Havant borough council along with all of our creatives and volunteers for helping us deliver an amazing day to be proud of.
